A Christmas Tradition: Elf on the Shelf

****It's official!!  This is our 100th post!!****

We are officially starting a new tradition tonight with a very special gift The Zavodny Family got Arden for her 2nd birthday:  The Elf on the Shelf. The best part is that it's a signed copy of the book that comes with a little Elf doll.  If you haven't heard of it, you really should!  It's quite a simple concept, really.  The Elf sits on the shelf and keeps an eye on the kids and reports back to Santa whether they've been naughty or nice.  She can even tell the Elf what she wants for Christmas and he'll tell Santa.  Each morning when Arden wakes up, she'll have to search the house to see where the Elf has moved to (since he travels all the way to the North Pole each night to report).  How fun?! One of the cutest things so far about the Elf is that she gets to name him.  The name she picked for this Elf is Bill.  Don't ask me why.  He's just Bill.

I think it's a great tradition to start! I don't think she'll be too young, but this year Arden really 'gets' Christmas (and the whole Santa gig). ;)
