Preschool Firehouse Tour!

On March 22, 2012 Arden got to visit our local firehouse with her preschool class!  One of her learning units this month was fire safety.  I am so very lucky to be able to volunteer a few times a month in her classroom and her teacher & I get along really well.  I suggested the class tour our local firehouse and she loved the idea.  So, I set up a tour for 15 preschoolers (YIKES!) and their parents.  The firefighters (especially Capt. Tim) were amazingly patient and kind with everyone.  They love their jobs and it shows!  God Bless them for doing what they do!

The kids LOVED it and I'm pretty sure all of them took away something very important - fire safety.  They learned how to dial 911 for an emergency and what they should do if there's a fire - or if they ever catch on fire. They even got to get in the fire truck, try on the masks & hats AND use the fire hose!  The highlight of the day, no doubt.

Here are some of my fave pics of Arden:

Arden said: "I'm a little shy to try on the hat."  But, she did it!

When asked what she hoped to do during the tour: "Spray the fire hose!"
Mission Accomplished.

Trying to wrangle 15 preschoolers for a group photo: CHALLENGING.
Capturing the memory of their first firehouse tour: PRICELESS.
